Knowing your Redeemer lives & living like your Redeemer lives are two separate things, because you can still be in bondage of the things that your Redeemer already redeemed you from and brought you out of.
“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me! If you say, ‘How we will pursue him!’ and, ‘The root of the matter is found in him,’”
Job 19:25-28
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer”. Psalm 19:14
As Hosea Redeems Gomer, through all the running and the sin against him. He runs after her & redeems her. Buying her back.
We tend to be like that running far and wide because it’s in are nature until God opens are eyes buys us back and we have new vision we now see what sins we we’re doing and what damaged they caused.
Through the book of Hosea it’s about Israel’s rebellion against God. And how like Hosea redeems Gomer is like how God is gonna redeem his people.
“And the Lord said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as the Lord loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins.” So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a lethech of barley. And I said to her, “You must dwell as mine for many days. You shall not play the whore, or belong to another man; so will I also be to you.” For the children of Israel shall dwell many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without ephod or household gods. Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God, and David their king, and they shall come in fear to the Lord and to his goodness in the latter days.”
Hosea 3:1-5
